Evelyn M. Bennett

Mrs. Evelyn M. (Smith) Bennett, of Taunton died Sunday, June 1 in the New England Sinai Hospital, Stoughton, following a brief illness. She was born 79 years ago in War- wick, R.I., the daughter of the late Walter J. and Violet (Goslin) Desrosier Smith, and the stepdaughter of the late Byron Smith. She was educated in Taunton and Middleboro and was a graduate of the Bristol Community College School of Nursing. Prior to her retire- ment, she had been employed as an L.P.N. at Longmeadow of Taunton for several years. She had previously been employed an an L.P.N. at the Paul A. Dever State School for many years. She was a member of several area senior citizens clubs. Mrs. Bennett en- joyed and travelled extensively and also enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Taunton. She leaves: 1 daughter: Brenda Litalien of Taunton 1 son: Robert Bennett, II of Connecticut 2 brothers: Samuel Smith of Georgia David Smith of Raynham 3 sisters: Charlotte Francis of Portsmouth, R.I. Harriet Nunes of Somerset Lillian McLaughlin of Dighton 2 grandchildren: Robert Bennett, III and Jennifer Bennett several nieces and nephews Her funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
