George DeLisle Sr. Obituary

Mr. George P. DeLisle Sr., Age 90 of Taunton, passed away on Saturday February 16th 2019, In his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Ellis) DeLisle. Born on June 30th, 1928, to the late George L. and Lillian (Beauccar) DeLisle. George was a lifelong city resident and was a graduate of the former Coyle High School. He was a U.S Navy Veteran and served during the Korean Era. Prior to his retirement, George was a Tool and Die Maker for the former Reed Barton Silversmiths.

George was a Communicant of the St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton and a Life Member of the Taunton Lodge of Elks #150. One of Georges favorite pastimes was fishing. He would fish every Saturday, all year round. George enjoyed bowling, playing golf, reading and most of all, spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. George loved woodworking and enjoyed working with his hands. He built a lot of his own furnishings and had many of his magnificent creations throughout his home.

Besides his beloved Wife Joanne, he leaves behind his 2 Sons; George P. Delisle, of Southern Pines N.C and his late wife Janine Byron-DeLisle and John M. Jack DeLisle and his wife Helen, of Taunton. His cherished grandchildren; Joshua, Kaitlynn, Ian and Noah DeLisle and his great grandson; Lincoln DeLisle. George also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harold DeLisle and the late Lillian Scott and the brother in-law of Barbara (Ellis) Thompson.

Visiting hours will be held in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 bay St. Taunton Ma on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 from 4-7PM. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial Will follow at 10AM in the St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton St., Taunton. Burial with Military Honors will take place in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, immediately following the Mass. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Georges name to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 Myles Standish Blvd, Taunton, MA 02780.
