Henry Vaillancourt Obituary

Mr. Henry E. Vaillancourt, of this city, died Tuesday, July 22 in Morton Hospital. He was the husband of Mildred J. (Crowley) Vaillancourt. He was born 81 years ago in Central Falls, R.I., the son of the late Emile and Marie (DuBois) Vaillancourt. He was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School, and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Vaillancourt had been a self-employed carpenter and was past treasurer of Local 1035, Carpenters Union in Taunton. He was also the co-owner of the B and V Excavating Co. of Taunton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served as a radioman. Mr. Vaillancourt was a member of the Weir Senior Citizens Club, the Morton Hospital Corporation, the Ligue du Sacre Coeur and was Past President of the Particular Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society of the former St. Jacques Church for 12 years, receiving the Societys Top Hat Award. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church, and was a Marian Medal recipient in 1981. In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 sister: Louise Ouillette, and her husband Roger, of Carlsbad, Calif. 4 nieces: Veronica Reynolds, and her husband Mark, of Taunton Sandra Bell, and her husband, George, of Riverside, R.I. Patricia Vaillancourt, and her husband Manuel Escobar of E.Providence, R.I. Lisa Pappous, and her husband, Perry, of Orange, Calif. 1 nephew: Darrin Ouillette, and his wife Shellee, of Marietta, Calif. Mr. Vaillancourt was also the brother of the late Eleanor Hazel and Theresa Ramsay. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, July 25 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitng Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
