Maria Donnelly Obituary
Mrs. Maria C. (Boivin) Donnelly, of Taunton, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas Donnelly. She was born 103 years ago in Taunton MA, the daughter of the late Euclid and Mathilda (Mador) Boivin. Maria was raised and educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Maria attended the former St. Jacques Grammar School and was a graduate of the former St. Marys High School. Prior to her retirement Maria was employed by Paul A. Dever State School and Texas Instruments. Maria was a lifelong parish member of the former St. Jacques Church. She was a member of the St. Judes Womens Guild and the LUnion St. Jean Baptiste Conseil No. 53. She enjoyed volunteering her time with the church, especially volunteering with St. Judes annual Penny Sale. In 2004, Maria received the Marian Medal for being an active, outstanding, and devoted catholic. Maria also enjoyed helping her neighbors, friends and family every chance she could.
Maria is survived by her 7 loving children; Maria H. Cramer of CA, Cecile D. Hersh of Taunton, Anne Louise MacLean of Brockton, Joseph W. Donnelly and his wife, Mary Eileen, of Taunton, Louis R. Donnelly of Taunton, Rita M. Camara of Taunton, Lorraine T. Lopes of Taunton and her daughter-in-law, Veronica Donnelly. Also, the mother of the late Phillip L. Donnelly of Taunton and the late Thomas J. Donnelly of Taunton. Maria also leaves 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and her 2 caregivers; Hannah Prairie and Carol Estabrook. Sister of the late Rita Bedard,Joseph Boivin, Euclid Boivin, Fr. Louis Boivin, Sr. Anna Imelda, S.U.S.C., Sr. Emma Boivin, S.S.J., Sr. Pauline Louise, S.U.S.C., Sr. Lucille Therese, S.U.S.C., Alma Pelletier, Ida Boivin, Arthur Boivin and Alphonse Boivin.
Visiting hours will be held in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton MA, on Wednesday, October 10th from 5-8p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday October 11th at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton St. Taunton MA.
