Robert Carrigan Obituary
Robert J. Carrigan, Age 70, passed away on Thursday April 18th 2019 with his loving family by his side. Born in Dedham, MA on February 23rd, 1949 to the late William and Anne (Harrington) Carrigan of Quincy, MA. Robert was educated in Hyde Park, where he was a 1967 graduate and star quarter back for Hyde Park High School. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran and served overseas in the Navy for four years. Prior to his retirement, Robert owned Panel Technology Co. in Wrentham, MA, a refrigeration manufacturing company and also worked in sales for Low Temp Engineering in Norton for many years. Robert was a longtime resident of Plainville, MA and spent the last 6 months living in North Attleboro with his daughter Jill Guimond and her husband Marc and two grandchildren Alyssa and Jaxon.
Never one to sit at home, Robert enjoyed spending time on the green for an exhilarating game of golf, traveling to Aruba, and most of all, spending time with his loveing family. Robert also enjoyed staying healthy and working out at the Hockmock YMCA in North Attleboro.
He was a devoted father to Jill Guimond and her husband, Marc, of North Attleboro and blessed to have two grandchildren Alyssa and Jaxon, also of North Attleboro. He leaves behind his Longtime partner, Joyce Cook, of Whitinsville, MA and was the cherished brother of William Carrigan and his wife, Tho, of Phoenix; Ann Yurof of Tucson, AZ; Tom Yurof and wife, Kathy, of Norwell, MA; Peggy Morrison of Hope Valley, RI; Albert Yurof and wife, Deborah, of Plainville, MA; Paul Yurof of Hope Valley, RI; and John Yurof, of CA. Robert also leaves a host of nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his half sister, the late Marie Carrigan Yurof and her husband, Albert who had raised him since he was 9. Also pre-deceased by his late sister Ruth (Carrigan) Atwater of Randolph.
Visiting hours will be held in the Riendeau Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton MA on Sunday April 28th from 1-3PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home at 3PM.Burial at the National Cemetery in Bourne will be private and at a later date for the immediate family.
