Alexandre A. Fernandes, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 21, 2023, surrounded by family and friends .

Alexandre, also known as “Karaka” was born on January 15, 1993, in Praia, Cape Verde where he lived through his childhood. Alex came to America in March 2009. He was the son of Theodora and Mario Tai Fernandes. He left behind 2 children, daughter Lailah Fernandes, age 9 and son Jayden Fernandes, age 8. Alex was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Alex was a genuine soul. Making friends was easy to him. He included anybody and made sure nobody ever felt left out. Alex was loyal, protective, and always there for friends and family. Alex was always positive and you would always catch him with a big smile on his face. He spread joy and laughter wherever he went. Alex loved spending time with his friends, family and loved ones. He was always cracking jokes and made sure everyone around him was as joyful as he was. All who knew him appreciated his company and out-going personality. He has left many heartbroken and speechless. He was loved by many. Alex will be missed and never forgotten. We love you.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 3,2023 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Riendeau- Mulvey Funeral Home 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday February 4, 2023 at 10:00AM in St. Anthony's Church 126 School St. Taunton, MA, followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery 475 E. Britannia St. Taunton, MA.
