It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Allan F. Motta announce his passing after losing a short battle with Lung Cancer. Allan passed away on Sunday July 4th 2021 at Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was a loving husband of 35 years, to Kendra A. (Westgate) Motta, of East Taunton. Allan was born in Taunton MA on January 10th, 1949, to the late Margaret (Nunes) and Francis Motta. A lifelong City resident, Allan was raised and educated in Taunton and graduated from Taunton High School in 1967. Immediately following his graduation, Allan enlisted with the Army National Guard until he was Honorably Discharged in 1972 and continued his service serving as Military Police at Otis Air Force Base in Bourne. Due to his health, Allan retired in 2009 after being employed with Harodite Industries for 34 years.
Allan had a passion for older cars. He enjoyed going to all kinds of antique car shows. He really liked Ford Mustangs and Chevy’s from the 50’s. He also loved fishing and would visit the Cape Cod Canal often to fish and spend quality time with loved ones. Allan enjoyed eating at restaurants on the Cape and getting steamers. You would often hear Allans favorite music playing in the background, which always included Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Allan had a big heart and was special in so many ways. He was exceptionally talented with his hands and was always willing to help his family and friends with any carpentry, plumbing or electrical projects they needed help with. He had a knack and talented skill for wood working and could build or restore just about anything. Allan will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
In addition to his beloved wife Kendra, Allan is survived by his step-son, Brian K Wrigley and wife Jessica of Attleboro. His two sons; Brian Motta of FL and Jeffrey Motta of Westport. His two sisters; Margaret Mello and husband Manuel, of Taunton and Susanne Avilla and Husband Kenneth, also of Taunton, and his sister-in-law; Marsha Reid of Taunton. He also leaves behind several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his cherished dog Molly. Allan was the brother-in-law of the late Brian Reid and the late Susan Nieviera.
Visiting hours will be held in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton MA 02780 on Monday, July 12th from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday July 13th at 11 :00 AM, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
