Mr. Alyre J. Bourque, of Taunton, passed away Saturday, September 29th 2018 in the Saint Josephs Rehabilitation and residence in Portland M.E, following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Martin) Bourque. He was born 88 years ago in New Brunswick, Canada, the son of the late Lloyd and Delphine Boudreau. He was educated in NB, Canada, where he spent his entire childhood. Prior to retirement, Alyre had been employed as a machine operator for Texas Instruments. He was a Veteran of the Canadian Army and was stationed in Germany. He was part of the Royal 22nd Regiment and the 1st Battalion Paratroopers. Alyre enjoyed square dancing, fishing and especially spending time with his loving grandchildren.
Alyre is survived by his 2 sons; Alyre R. Bourque of Taunton and Michael J. Bourque of CA, 2 daughters; Claudette Halliley of Taunton and Marie Bacon of Portland ME. Brother of Happy Bourque of Berkley, MA, Claudette (Metcalfe) Bourque of NB, Canada, and the late Roger Bourque. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held In the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, Ma, on Friday October 5th from 8:00AM-10:30AM. Following the visitation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Jude the Apostle Parish on Friday at 11:00AM. Burial will take place in the Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton MA.
