Ann L. (McCaffrey) Ramsay, Age 97, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Marian Manor of Taunton. She was the beloved wife of the late James A. Ramsay. Born in Taunton on September 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Annie (Gotham) and James H. McCaffrey.
Ann was a lifelong resident of Taunton and completed her education at Taunton High School. She diligently chaired the 1945 class reunions from 1995-2008 and co-chaired the 1946 class reunions from 2009-2017. Ann devoted many years as a stay-at-home mother before resuming clerical work. Her commitment extended to serving at the polls for numerous years, and she played a leadership role in organizing trips.
A devout member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Taunton, Ann was also a former member of St. Paul’s Women’s Guild and the Oakland Senior Citizens.
Ann enjoyed dancing and was particularly fond of line dancing. Her hobbies included bowling, crocheting, and taking drives to Cape Cod. Above all, Ann cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her 3 daughters, Ann (John) White of Taunton, Kathryn (Kenneth) Pontes of Taunton and Patricia (the late Brian) Stratton, also of Taunton. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Lisa Duarte, James White, Kerry (Scott) Chicoine, Michelle Stratton, David Stratton, Kristina (the late Anthony) Correia, and Lori (Patrick) Cunningham, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Ann was the sister of the late James, Francis, William, Robert, and Edward McCaffrey, along with the late Mary Cormier and Helen Mros.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th from 8:30am-9:30am in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 19 Kilmer Ave., Taunton. She will be laid to rest with her late husband James at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
