Anne L. (Malone) Pelton

Anne “Nancy” L (Malone) Pelton passed peacefully with her daughter by her side after a sudden and brief illness on August 25, 2026.

Anne was born in Boston in 1945 and spent her young life growing up in West Roxbury. Anne attended Roslindale High School and spent her teenage years caring for her ailing mother before marrying and opting for motherhood instead of a promising career at John Hancock Insurance in Boston.

Anne raised her daughter and became a stepmother in Brockton.  Later, she spent many wonderful years living in Easton, then her final years close to her sister Janet in Taunton. 

Anne was the wife of Courtland “Tubby” Pelton and together, “Tubby and Annie” had 40 years of laughter and love that was shared by all who knew them. Big family breakfasts that were important enough to withstand all the eggs she loved to hate, pizzas at the Union Villa in Easton, weekends on the Cape with Tom and Pat West (formerly) of Easton, and firepit nights with Rene and Teri Vadabonceur and Judy Brophy of Taunton were among their most favorite memories. With many friends and family alike, they enjoyed vacations and cruises to Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Las Vegas, Florida, Maine, the Berkshires and even Alaska. Anne’s last cruise celebrated her 80th birthday on a Viking River Cruise along the Sienne River in Paris after a trip to London - a trip that she and her Tubby always dreamed of doing together.

Anne loved her Rocky Knoll Community where she was a regular on game nights, exercise class, daily walks, day trips and community gatherings. Anne’s phone was always ringing and her close circle of friends always knew they could rely on her for an up-to-the-minute weather forecast!

Anne loved a good prank on those unsuspecting – dressing up like a kid on Halloween to fool the neighbors, mysterious outfit changes on the goose outside at Janet’s, replacing chocolates with baby carrots at Easter Egg Hunts, hidden “jugs” of whiskey that would appear seemingly out of nowhere, shocking people with her rendition of “Baby Got Back,” and mastering the art of hiding just how much candy she could actually eat at every opportunity. Those who knew her best knew that this unsuspecting little woman had far too many tricks up her sleeve.

Anne enjoyed time on the water sailing with her daughter and son-in-law and making new friends at their home on Crescent Beach while laughing at the antics of her granddogs, Wilbur and Charlotte. They especially loved their bedtime snuggles with grandma and her special blankie. They are truly grateful for her help with PittieLove Rescue – a cause close to their hearts.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Ann-Marie Butler Yukna, and her son-in-law, Thaddeus M. Yukna of Mattapoisett, along with her granddogs Wilbur and Charlotte, who were among her biggest admirers. She is also survived by her devoted sister Janet Malone, her loving step-daughter Joanne Pelton Hardy and husband David, Kenneth Pelton and wife Jean, Karen Pelton Loseke and husband Brian, and their children. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. Anne was predeceased by her husband Courtland J. Pelton, her brother George, her sister Marilyn, her parents George F. Malone and Anne L. Hunt Malone, her stepmother Margaret M. Follansbee Butler Malone along with Margaret’s children, Janet and David, with whom she remained close. She also grieved deeply the losses of nieces and nephews Steven, Eddie, Mal, and Robin, who were gone much too early and remained in her heart always.

Inseparable for eternity now, “Tubby and Annie” will rest together in a private burial. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton MA. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anne and Courtland can be made to one of the following organizations:
