Basil A. Tedesco

“Basil Anthony Tedesco, known to most as “Tony” and to close family as “Dody,” passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the age of 64 after a long battle with liver disease.

Tony was born on August 6, 1960, and lived his life in Massachusetts. A loyal Boston Bruins fan, he also loved boxing and music. In his final years, he took pride in the nearly seven years of sobriety he had maintained. During that time, he enjoyed being a Papa to his four grandchildren and made the most of every moment he had with them.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte (Tedesco) Rivera, his brothers, Robert Tedesco and Bruno Rivera, and his longtime partner of over 20 years, Debra Paolini. Tony is survived by his father, John Hearns Jr. of Woonsocket; his daughter, Nicole Tedesco of Taunton; his son, James “JP” Whittemore of Medford; and his sister, Patricia Tedesco of Lynn. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Camron, Dominic, Roman, and Veronica; his nieces, Gabriela and Stephanieleigh Tedesco both of Lynn; his great-nieces and nephews, Amiyah, Amariyah, Noah, and Brucey; and many cousins who loved him.

He will be missed beyond measure."

Services will be held on Saturday, July 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, Massachusetts 02780. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
