Taunton — Carol Ann Pereira, 84, a lifelong Taunton resident, passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2026. Born in Taunton on February 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rene J. Bazinet and Stella S. (Arcikowski) Bazinet.
Before retiring, Carol worked with the WISE Program in Taunton as an Activities Coordinator. She also assisted by driving patients to their medical appointments. Carol took great pride in serving her community and supporting those in need.
A woman of deep faith, Carol was a devoted churchgoer who found comfort and strength in her religious life. She enjoyed many of the simple pleasures in life — attending local fiestas and Polish picnics, listening to music, and spending time at the casino.
Above all, Carol loved being with her family. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.
She was the loving mother of the late Dennis Pereira and his fiancée, the late Stacey L. Santos, as well as Michelle Frates-Parmenter and her husband Scott of Middleboro, and Lynnette Duarte and her husband Anthony “Tod” Duarte of Taunton.
She was the cherished grandmother of Alyssa Frates, Troy Pereira, and Treyson Duarte, and the proud great-grandmother of Jaedyn Hardiman, Arieanna Clark, and Jayce Clark.
Carol was the dear sister of Sandy Enko and her husband Fred, Louise Baptista and her husband William, the late Robert Bazinet and his late wife Patricia Ann and the late Denise Bazinet. She is also survived by Sherry Chaves, whom she regarded as one of her own, as well as Michael Ferreira, Christina Ferreira, Brandon Duarte, and Matthew Duarte, whom she considered her grandchildren. Carol was the former wife of the late Manuel P. Pereira.
She also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her quick witted fun-loving spirit, as she always enjoyed a good laugh.
Carol will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her strong faith, and the joy she found in life’s simple moments, especially the time she spent with those she loved most.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 9:00am – 10:30am in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA 02780.
