Mrs. Catherine E. Castanino, age 90, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph “Jack” Castanino Jr., with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Boston on January 12, 1936, she was the cherished daughter of the late Mary (Barr) and William Dalton. Raised and educated in Boston, Catherine dedicated many years of her career as a Buyer at Boston Scientific before her retirement.
Catherine was a woman of warmth and kindness, well-known for her love of reading and the joy she found in spending time with her beloved family. She delighted in dining out and especially treasured her shopping excursions. Catherine's gentle spirit, strong family values, and zest for life will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Linda Prouty of Raynham, Nancy Presti and her husband Paul of Brockton, and Donna Castanino-Burgess of Montreal. Catherine also leaves behind her brother, Danny Dalton, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will hold her memory close. In addition to her late husband Jack, she was predeceased by her children, Mary Lou Lowder, Cathy Ann Longueil, and John Castanino, and by her brothers John, Willie, Jimmy, Bob, Tommy, and Kevin Dalton.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visiting hours on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA 02780.
