Our beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, Denise L. (Werra) Dalton of Taunton MA., passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Dalton Sr.
Born in Boston on November 26, 1953, to the late Lorretta (Mansfield) and Joseph Werra. Denise was a Graduate of Brockton High Night School Program. She waitressed for most of her life at several restaurants, The Coach House in South Carolina and most recently Joe’s Diner in Taunton, MA. Denise was known for her love for cooking, feeding everyone and being the glue that kept the parties going around, the holidays and many more events. She enjoyed going to the casino, swimming, and watching football, in her words “America’s favorite team” the New England Patriots, but Denise loved nothing more than spending time with her children and her grandchildren. Her children and her grandchildren were her heart and soul, and she will be dearly missed by all of them.
Survived by her children: Thomas Lonergan Jr. and wife Deborah of Randolph, MA, Lisa Coleman and husband Corey of Simpsonville, SC and Robert Dalton and wife Tanya of Taunton, MA, her siblings: Paul Werra of Taunton, MA and Linda Patterson of Abington, MA, her beloved grandchildren, Justin Lonergan of Randolph, MA, Kaitlyn Coleman and partner Kevin of Greenwood, SC, Kayla Coleman of Simpsonville, SC and Kenzie Dalton of Taunton, MA, her adorable great-granddaughter Blakely Simmerman of Greenwood, SC, along with an aunt, an uncle and several nieces and nephews. Denise was also the sister of the late John, Joseph, Daniel, William, Leonard, and Thomas Werra.
At Denise’s request, there will be no services, but before she passed, she made it known she wanted us all to share a laugh and have a Celebration of Life. Details will be announced at a later date.
