Donald R. Bassett Jr.

Donald Richard Bassett Jr. of Westerly, died Monday May 2, 2022 at the age of 69.

Don (Ricky, as he was known to his family) was born on May 2nd, 1953 in Annapolis, Maryland while his father was stationed at the US Naval Academy.  Don was a world traveler as a military dependent before establishing his roots in New England.  Don attended Ledyard High School in Connecticut before moving to Newport and graduating from Middletown High School in 1971. He was adventurous, kind, warm hearted and the life of the party and will be forever missed.

Don was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his sons Daniel (wife Catherine); Adam (wife Ashley); Matthew; his daughter Elizabeth; his twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren and his sisters Deborah Bassett Yering, Lynne Bassett Giessing and Stephanie Bassett Potts.

He was predeceased by his second wife, Sally; father, Donald Richard Bassett Sr. and mother, Sara Waldron Bassett.
