Doris A. (Dufresne) Bird, age 79, of Raynham formerly of Taunton passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Morton Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Doris was born in New Bedford, MA on Christmas Day, December 25, 1944 to the late Alvinie and Annette (Gobeil) Dufresne. Educated in Taunton and a graduate of Sturdy Memorial in 1966. Prior to her retirement, Doris was a dedicated nurse and had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Morton Hospital for over 30 years. She was a former Communicant of the former St. Jacques (St. Jude the Apostle Parish). Doris enjoyed crocheting, going to the beach, visiting Vegas with her brother George, going to Canoe River Campground and bingo but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Survived by her son David A. Bird of Taunton, daughters Deborah M. Bruce of Taunton, Christine Galhardo and husband Paul of East Freetown, brothers Ronald Dufresne and wife Maureen of Raynham, and Paul Dufresne of Lakeville and her beloved grandchildren Harley, Ivy and Saige. Doris was also the sister of the late George Dufresne and Patricia Monahan.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 9:00am – 10:30am at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA, a Funeral Mass at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, 249 Whittenton St, Taunton, MA will be held at 11:00am, following a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery 475 E. Britannia St. Taunton, MA, all family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
