Dorothy "Dot" (Tavares) Ambrozio

Dorothy "Dot" Marie Ambrozio, celebrated her 92nd birthday on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day, which always delighted her, passed peacefully in her sleep on April 20, 2023 at the All-American Assisted Living Facility in Raynham, Ma. She was the loving wife of the late James T. Ambrozio, Sr. and devoted mother to the late James T. Ambrozio, Jr., who sadly passed on October​ 19, 2022, at the age of 71, in Hesperia, California. Dorothy and her son will be laid to rest together.

Dorothy was born on March 17, 1931 in Taunton, Ma. and attended the city of Taunton Schools. She worked briefly for the Welch Candy Company in Mansfield, Ma. Dot enjoyed knitting, watching soap operas and loved cats. Her son James was married to the late, Constance (Riveira) Ambrozio. He worked at ​McDonell Douglas Aviation in California, and later in life had his own Accounting Business. James enjoyed collecting and selling Hot Wheels.   

Dorothy is survived by her siblings, Louise Silvia and Joseph Tavares, of Taunton, Ma., Shirley Nicolan of Raynham, Ma., William Tavares of Bourne, Ma., and James Tavares of Fairhaven, Ma. and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her siblings, Mary Jane Duckaz, Richard Tavares, Sylvina Tavares, and Edward P. Tavares, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 10:00-10:30 am at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, at Holy Family Parish, 372 Middleboro Ave. East Taunton, Ma. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Dot's honor to the Compassionate Care Hospice of Southeastern, Mass LI/Taunton, MA.
