Edward M. Dooley Sr.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Edward M. Dooley Sr., age 88, of Taunton, who passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. He was the devoted husband of the late Ann E. (Kingsbury) Dooley. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, on February 8, 1937, Edward was the son of the late Mary T. (Martin) and George L. Dooley Sr..

Mr. Dooley was a proud member of the Taunton community. He was formerly involved with several local organizations, including being a long time member of the Pilgrim Congregational Church, the Taunton Lions Club, Taunton Lodge of Elks #150, the Italian Naturalization Club and the P.A.C.C. Edward found great fulfillment in his community service, particularly during his tenure on the City of Taunton Planning Board.

Edward is survived by his son: Eric Dooley of Washington State and his two daughters: Kathleen Dooley of Colorado, and Lynn Dooley of Taunton, MA. He is also survived by his brother James W. Dooley. In addition to his late wife Ann, he was predeceased by his son Edward M. Dooley Jr., his daughter Sandra Dooley, his sister Margaret Morin and his brother George L. Dooley Jr..

Visiting Hours will be held at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 9:30am-11:30am, with a Funeral Service to follow in the funeral home at 11:30am. Interment will follow in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
