Edward Hazen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on December 2, 1938, to the late Elizabeth (Fisher) and Loyd Hazen. Ed was the beloved husband of Nancy (Longstaff) Hazen.
Ed married his sweetheart, Nancy Helen Longstaff, in 1956. Together, they celebrated 69 years of matrimony, raising eight children in a home filled with warmth and laughter. Their enduring partnership was a testament to commitment and love, and their family grew to include fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, each of whom Ed cherished deeply.
For many years, Ed worked as an auto mechanic, earning a reputation for his skill, honesty, and dedication. Even after retirement, he continued to lend his expertise to friends, neighbors, and anyone facing a tough automotive problem. His generosity and willingness to help others made him a fixture in the community.
An avid train hobbyist, Ed was well known for his impressive personal collection and a membership in a local train club. He found joy in sharing his knowledge and passion for trains with fellow enthusiasts, always eager to foster new friendships and celebrate the magic of railways.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Helen (Longstaff) Hazen, and their children: Sandra Sousa, Wanda Hazen, Wayne Hazen, Mark Hazen, Valerie English, Dawn Thayer, and Glenn Hazen. His legacy lives on through his large and loving family, including fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Ed Hazen touched the lives of so many, offering kindness, guidance, and support to all who knew him. His absence will be felt deeply, but his memory will continue to inspire love and unity in the hearts of his family and friends.
