Edward Vasconcellos Obituary

Edward D. Vasconcellos, 64, passed away on Wednesday May 3, 2023, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born in Taunton on May 5, 1958, to Donald Vasconcellos and the late Margaret “Peggy” (Platt) Correia.

Eddie is remembered fondly by his sister Jeannie as the big brother who put band aids on her “boo-boos” when she was young, always gave her money for the ice cream truck, played lots of board games and most of all, kept her safe at night from the scary dreams and monsters under the bed. Eddie loved going to her comedy shows and was her biggest fan in his later years!

He was an avid collector of many things and enjoyed listening to music from his vinyl collection of more than 300 records. Loved talking sports and loved the Celtics. Eddie loved his children and talked to everyone about them and their accomplishments throughout the years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and volunteered at many different places. Eddie also enjoyed a good game of bingo.

Eddie will be remembered as a worker and never shied away from any way to make money when he could, from working numerous jobs in his younger years, helping raise his children, working as a school crossing guard, bus driver, a Constable and even collecting cans for reimbursement. Eddie was always on the lookout for opportunities!

Survived by his father Donald Vasconcellos (Barbara Vasconcellos), two daughters, three sons, sisters Brenda Hubbard (Dave), Donna Foster (Brian), Jeannie Robertson (Cherrylyn) and Kimberly Correia (Lori), brother Anthony Correia and several nieces and nephews Donnie, BJ, Hailey, Skye, Kendra, Kileigh, Luis, Michael, Sean, Ezekial, Margaret, Lynne, and Rebecca. Eddie was also the brother of the late Nathan Vasconcellos.

Services will be private.
