Edward "Ed" Karol Obituary

Edward Joseph Karol, known lovingly to family and friends as Ed, passed away on September 3, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on January 27, 1957, in Taunton, Massachusetts, he lived a life marked by faith, devotion, hard work, and a kindhearted spirit that touched everyone who knew him. He was a Christian man whose life reflected the values he held dear, and he will be remembered with deep love by all who were blessed to share in his journey.

He shared many years of love and companionship with his wife, Laura Karol, and together they built a family rooted in love and devotion. He was the proud father of Jennifer Karol, Christina Karol, and Ryan Karol, and he cherished each of them deeply. His joy grew even more in his role as grandfather to Kayla Karol and Landon Karol, two grandchildren who brought light and happiness to his life. Ed treasured his family and showed his love not only through words, but through the steady example of his care, loyalty, and thoughtful presence. His family will remember him for the prayers he offered, the laughter he shared, and the comfort he gave simply by being near.

Throughout his life, Ed was known as a faithful, loving, and funny man whose presence brought comfort and light to others. He had a deep love for the Lord and was never shy about offering prayers for those in need. His faith was not simply something he believed in quietly, but something he lived out in the way he treated others. He offered encouragement, kindness, and prayer with sincerity, and those around him often found strength in his words and his example. Ed’s Christian faith guided him through life and gave him peace in times of joy and in times of difficulty.

Ed worked hard throughout his life and was respected for his dedication and reliability. He was employed as a manufacturing shipper at Eureka Manufacturing in Norton, Massachusetts, where he contributed with diligence and care. He also served as a custodian at Norton Animal Hospital and Wheaton College, where his steady work and dependable nature were appreciated by those around him. He understood the value of honest labor and took pride in doing his part well. His work ethic reflected the character of a man who believed in doing his best and serving others faithfully.

In addition to his work, Ed found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He enjoyed growing house plants and took pleasure in watching them thrive under his care. He loved collecting M&M memorabilia and antique clocks, finding delight in the uniqueness and charm of each piece. He also enjoyed refurbishing used furniture, taking something worn and forgotten and giving it new life. This gift for restoration reflected something beautiful about Ed himself, for he had a way of seeing value where others might not and of bringing warmth and usefulness back into what had been overlooked. Just recently he was ordained a deacon, a calling that reflected his devotion to God and his desire to serve the church and his community.

Ed was a man who believed in prayer, and he often prayed for others who were in need. This quiet devotion was one of the most beautiful expressions of his character. He did not seek attention for his kindness, but gave freely from a heart filled with compassion. His loved ones will remember his humor, his faith-filled outlook, and the way he could bring a smile to a room. He had a way of making others feel at ease, and his laughter and good spirit will be dearly missed.

His life was a testimony to the truth of the words of Scripture, that “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Ed’s life reflected perseverance, trust in God, and love for those around him. Though his earthly journey has ended, the legacy he leaves behind remains strong in the hearts of his family and friends. He lived as a man of faith, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live with kindness, humility, and hope.

Ed will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, worker, and friend. He was a man who loved deeply, prayed sincerely, laughed often, and lived faithfully. His passing leaves a great emptiness, but his life leaves behind a powerful example of Christian love and steadfast devotion. Those who loved him take comfort in the promise of eternal life and in the assurance that he rests now in the peace of God.

Edward Joseph Karol is survived by his wife, Laura Karol; his daughters, Jennifer Karol and Christina Karol; his son, Ryan Karol; his granddaughters; Kayla Karol, Hailey, Skye, and Kyleigh Robertson ; his grandson, Landon Karol and also his brother Danny Karol. He is also remembered with love by all who knew him and were touched by his faith-filled, loving, and funny spirit. Though he is no longer present in body, his memory will remain a blessing, and his life will continue to be celebrated with gratitude, reverence, and enduring love.
