Eugene J. O'Brien Jr.

Eugene O’Brien Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday March 31, 2023 at the age of 83. He was the son of Eugene O’Brien Sr. and Ida (Cote) O’Brien.

Born in Taunton in 1939, Eugene was a 1957 graduate of Coyle High School after finishing his elementary school education at St. Mary's. Married for nearly 60 years to Susan (Wheeler) O'Brien. Eugene proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965. Over the years Eugene became a self-employed electrician serving mostly folks in the Taunton area until his retirement.

In addition to his beloved wife Susan, he leaves behind his children, Jeffrey, David, and Kathy Bogie, his grandchildren Shane, Tyler, Vincent, Jennifer, Ryan and Jason Souza. Eugene also became a great-grandfather to Roman Souza. Brothers Michael and Edward O’Brien and a sister Virginia Larkin, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eugene was predeceased in death by his brothers Richard and Daniel O’Brien and a sister Janet Dimock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, April 29,2023 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held on a later date for the family's convenience.
