Fernanda M. (Ferreira) Silva

Mrs. Fernanda M. (Ferreira) Silva, age 87, of Taunton, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Emanuel Silva, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, on June 30, 1938, Fernanda was the cherished daughter of the late Maria Celestina (Teixeira) Ferreira and Jose Ferreira. She was a devoted parishioner of Annunciation of the Lord Parish in Taunton, embodying a strong faith throughout her life.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Silva was employed at Texas Instruments and Frank Noone Shoe Company, where she was known for her dedication and work ethic.

Fernanda was passionate about reading and crocheting, and found joy in visiting the beach, camping, and traveling, especially to her beloved Madeira. She also enjoyed frequent visits to jewelry stores. Above all, Fernanda treasured time spent with her family, particularly her three grandchildren and her cherished chihuahua, Funchal. She loved her Goddaughter Dina Boostrom like another daughter.

Mrs. Silva will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and the warmth she shared with all who knew her.

In addition to her beloved husband Emanuel, Fernanda is survived by her two daughters, Sidonia Silva-Reyes and her husband Axel Reyes and Sara Costa and her husband Gabe, all of Taunton. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Korey Faria, Kennedy Reyes and Kameron Faria, along with three Goddaughters and other extended family members.

The family is especially grateful to Beacon Hospice and Anodyne for their care and companionship.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 8:30am-10:30am in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA 02780. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am in the Annunciation of the Lord Parish, 31 1St. St. Taunton, MA 02780. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
