Florence M. (Vasseur) Charles of Raynham passed away peacefully on April 27th at the age of 97. She was the wife of the late Gilbert R. Charles, Sr. Florence was born in Vermont on September 2, 1923 to the late Amos and Irene (Duprey) Vasseur.
Florence was raised and educated in Cambridge. She loved shopping at Kohls and was an avid Tom Selleck Fan. She loved her children very much and enjoyed spending time with her family. Florence was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart.
Florence leaves behind her loving sons; Gilbert R. Charles, Jr. of Dorchester and Alan J. Charles and his wife, Lois of Weymouth. She was predeceased by two sons; the late Robert P. and John Charles. She had four loving daughters; Susan E. Nephew and her husband Michael of Raynham, Dorothy E. Dormady and her husband David of Abington, Patricia Cavanaugh of Quincy and the late Pamela M. Charles. Florence was the sister of Edmund Vasseur and his wife Genevieve of FL and Janice Kezal of PA. She was pre-deceased by eight other siblings. Florence will be missed by her eighteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 4th from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA.
