Francis J. Lucey Sr.

Mr. Francis J. Lucey Sr, age 98 of Taunton, passed away on Thursday April 18, 2024 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Doris (Lehoullier) Lucey. Francis was born in Taunton on July 23, 1925 to the late Alta (White) and Joseph Lucey. He was raised and educated in Taunton and was a lifelong city resident.  After graduating from Taunton High School, Francis enlisted with the United States Army in 1943 and proudly served his country during WWII.  He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology and went on to work for several architectural firms throughout Boston for many years.  Francis also sat on the Advisory Board for the Catholic Diocese of Fall River Board of Education.

He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Francis is survived by his three children, Francis J. Lucey Jr. and his wife Dona, Robert A. Lucey, and Sandra Newman and her husband Nicholas. He was the loving grandfather of Stacey Bartolomeo and her husband Carl Cohen, Brian Bartolomeo and his wife Elizabeth and was the great-grandfather of Cole Bartolomeo, Elina Bartolomeo and Asher Cohen.  He also leaves behind his dear friend Barbara Spake.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 10:00am-11:00am in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton Ma followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
