Gail Mabel Filteau, age 82, of Taunton, passed away peacefully in Somerset on September 24, 2025. Gail will be fondly remembered for her warmth, elegance, and deep devotion to her loved ones. Gail was the beloved wife of the late Robert Filteau.
Born to the late Charlotte (Ripley) and Omar Holman, Gail grew up in Taunton and graduated from Taunton High School. She built a meaningful career, working for many years at Bradlees and later at TJ Maxx. Her professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Gail’s love for the outdoors and the ocean was matched only by her appreciation for flowers, fashion, and animals—especially cats. She was known for her impeccable sense of style, always dressed to impress and radiating confidence. Gail cherished simple pleasures: spending time with family and friends, watching Days of Our Lives, stargazing, and listening to her favorite music. Her home was filled with laughter, love, and the beauty of nature.
Survived by her devoted daughters, Suzanne Filteau of Taunton and Lisa Dussault of Fall River; her son-in-law, Richard Dussault; her cherished grandson, Devyn Dussault; and her loving nieces, Karen Williamson and Laurie Johnson. Gail’s memory will live on through the lives of those she touched and the family she adored.
Gail’s grace, generosity, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, style, and joyful moments shared with others. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the support and friendship extended to Gail throughout her life.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00am, at Mayflower Hill Cemetery, 235 Broadway, Taunton, MA. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
