Gerald "Jerry" Urbanus

Gerald "Jerry" Peter Urbanus, 82, of Easton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at Accentcare Hospice Center in Milton, MA. He was the beloved husband to the late Jane (Gudeczauskas) Urbanus.

Born in Boston on January 18th, 1944, to the late Peter and Stephanie (Ruka) Urbanus. Raised and educated in Boston, Jerry always enjoyed spending the summers and weekends at the families vacation home in Taunton. Jerry graduated from Wentworth Institute with a degree in Engineering and worked at Valeron Corp. and Hasbro Industries. Jerry was a hard worker well into his later years working at Lowe's until he retired.

He enjoyed watching sports, loved traveling and vacationing in New Hampshire. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the french horn with the Cambridge Caballeros Drum and Bugle Corps, which included traveling and competitions. He also participated in bowling leagues with his father and friends.

Jerry is survived by his son, Steven Urbanus Sr. of Taunton, his daughter, Michele Reynolds and her husband Keith of Taunton. Proud grandfather to Adrianna Urbanus and her fiancee Brandon Stanley, Tyler Urbanus and Steven Urbanus Jr. and great grandpa to Jazmine Rose and Paisleigh Renee Stanley.

He is also survived by his brother, David Urbanus and his wife Barbara of Easton, his sister Mary Verdun and her husband Jon of Plymouth, his uncle Edward and aunt Marie Ruka, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry is also survived by his former wife Claire (Pelletier) Urbanus, and many wonderful friends.

He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours and a funeral service being held at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2026, from 9:00am to 11:00am with a Memorial Service in funeral home at 11:00am. 

The family will be privately attending their loved one at his resting place, at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton, Ma.
