Geraldine E. (Poissant) Avanzo

Geraldine E. Avanzo, age 78, of Taunton, passed away on May 30, 2024, after a long struggle with a pulmonary illness. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Middleboro on October 4,1945, daughter of the late Nelson and Alice Poissant.

Geraldine enjoyed spending time with her niece Crystal, when she would visit or take her out shopping and for lunch. Her favorite hobbies were word searches, reading, and walking. She was always willing to help out whomever she could. She had an infectious laugh and prided herself on her independence.

Survived by her sons Timothy and wife Victoria Watts, Steven and wife Maureen Watts, and Jamie Richard. Her beloved grandchildren, Zachary Watts Morrison, Alec Watts Morrison, Jacob Watts, Drew Watts, Ally Watts, Erin Watts, Jordan Richard, Collin Richard, Madysen Richard, along with many nieces and nephews and her best friend Marian Costa. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband Paul Avanzo, her brothers Nelson, John, Jeffery, Lester and her sisters Nancy and Cathy.

As per her last wishes. There will be no wake or funeral, she will be cremated and interred with her parents.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Francis Cemetery, 24 Glebe St. Taunton, MA at 11:00am. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
