It is with deep sorrow that the family of Helen L. (Correia) Cook-Lopes, of Taunton, announces her peaceful passing at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 77.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Antone J. Lopes and Steven Cook, and the cherished daughter of the late Anna (Donahue) and Armindo Correia. A lifelong resident of Taunton, Helen was educated in the city’s schools and was known for her dedication to family, friends, and community.
Throughout her career, Helen contributed her talents to the Curtain and Shoe Factory and the Ames Department Warehouse in Mansfield. She later served as a bus driver for H & L Bloom for 18 years before her retirement.
Helen will be remembered for her love of shopping, sightseeing, and solving crossword puzzles. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and delighted in attending family gatherings.
Helen’s memory will remain an enduring blessing in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Steven A. Cook Jr. and her former daughter-in-law, Fran Parker of Taunton. Helen was the sister of Mary Ann Mosier and her husband Roy of Taunton, and the late James P. Correia and his wife Louise. She was the cherished grandmother of Steven Cook III, Ryan Cook and Brandon Cook. Helen also leaves behind three stepchildren, Nancy Pacheco, Cindy Lopes, Lisa Lopes and Louis Cavallo, along with 3 God children, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton MA. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:00am in the Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, 475 E. Britannia St., Taunton MA.
