Irene "Memere" Crompton, 98, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Taunton. She is survived by her daughter Susan Crompton and her fiancé Edward Murphy, her son John and his wife Linda and her son Robert. Irene loved to travel (especially in Europe), spend time with her family and was a connoisseur of good cooking. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan!
Irene was a selfless, kind and caring woman. She was a devoted mom and friend to many. There was nothing that she loved more than her family. Irene's family would like to express their appreciation to Dori Curtin for her loving care, of Memere, in a difficult time.
With a strict adherence to COVID-19 health precautions family and friends are cordially invited to honor Irene by attending visitation at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, MA 02780 on Wednesday, April 28th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Irene's name can be made to The Joslin Diabetes Center (https://www.joslin.org/support-joslin/ways-give) for Juvenile Diabetes.
