Jacqueline Coute Obituary

Jacqueline Coute (Robino), 79, loving mother and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022 at Morton Hospital surrounded by her family after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband John Coute and daughter, Lisa, both with whom she shared a very special relationship. She was also predeceased by her parents, Bruno and Cecile (Dumont) Robino.

Jackie was a graduate of Taunton High School and employed as a dietary worker at the Taunton Nursing Home for several years prior to her retirement. She was best remembered as an exceptional bartender, serving her favorite customers at both the former King Philip Cafe and Lombardi’s.

Before her husband’s death, Jackie and John, affectionately known as Jac&Jac were inseparable soulmates. They enjoyed their traditional Sunday nights out to dinner as well as vacationing in Maine. Jackie’s resilience after the loss of her beloved husband was astonishing. She persevered, found new ground and gained new independence during her time of grief. She was especially proud after she taught herself to drive and obtained her driver’s license at 55 years of age. Her resilience is most recognized in her ability to move ahead in life after the loss of her second born child Lisa in 2007.

Jackie was a true warrior. She stood by Lisa through many years of declining health. She battled several health conditions of her own over a 15 year period. Despite these losses and health concerns, she never complained. Jackie was a friend to many. Those who knew her can attest that she enjoyed the simple things in life. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casinos, and hanging out at Cronin’s Spa. Jackie told it like it was and was extremely honest with everyone she met. Jackie was extremely proud of all her children.

Jackie is survived by her loving children, sons, John Coute and his companion Belinda Westgate; Keith Coute and his wife Darcy Coute; Eric Coute; all of Taunton and her daughter Ericca Coute of New Bedford. She also leaves her 8 grandchildren who she loved with all her heart, Johnny Coute, Carleigh Coute, Alyssa Edenberg, Chloe Coute, Hailee and Grayson Edenberg and Brody and Maya Coute. She also was blessed with two great grandchildren, Ayla Williams and John Coute, with a third great grandchild on the way.  She also is survived by her brother Peter Robino. She was predeceased by her sisters Paulette (Robino) Marra and Sandra Hartgrove and her brothers Roland and Norman Robino. She also leaves a son-in-law, Donald Sullivan.
