James “Jim” Rybka was born on October 29, 1960 in Fall River MA, and has sadly left this earth after a valiant battle with cancer. A fighter until the end, Jim passed away surrounded by family on October 12, 2023, at the age of 62.
Jim grew up in Barrington, RI where he attended Barrington High. A true New Englander at heart, he lived in Rhode Island his entire life, where he enjoyed many past times such as cooking, fishing, and boating. He had a love for football, vacationing at “the camp” in the White Mountains of NH, and lighthouses. He was also quite handy and prided himself that he could fix almost anything. Much like Jim’s personality; “Here in New England, the character is strong and unshakable.” ― Norman Rockwell
Survived by many loving individuals, including his daughter and son in-law, Rachel and Ryan Souza of Haverhill MA along with his granddaughters Teagan and Fynlee, his daughter Emily Lymburner of Woonsocket RI and his granddaughter Isla, his son Peter Rybka of Pascoag RI, his mother Mary Rybka of Barrington RI, his sister and brother in-law Shirley and Robert Meyers of Concord NH, his brother and sister in-law Fred Rybka and Nancy White of Bristol RI, along with his nephew Freddy Rybka of Chepachet RI, his beloved girlfriend Joanne Marie Ormond of Bristol RI, and his cat “Putty”, in addition to many loving aunts, an uncle and several cousins as well. Jim was predeceased by his father Peter F. Rybka and his nephew, Mathew Rybka.
Our family is grateful to know that Jim is finally at peace. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Luke’s Parish, 108 Washington Rd. Barrington, RI 02806, all family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
