Jane C. Steeves

Jane C. Steeves, 71, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024,  after a 6 year battle with cancer. 

Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Carruth & Marguerite (Lemieux) Steeves. Jane was educated in Taunton, at St. Mary's Grammar and Taunton High School. She then graduated from Katherine Gibbs in Providence. Jane worked as an administrative assistant for various businesses and law firms, retiring from Lynch & Lynch in 2018 after 20 years.

She is survived by her siblings Richard Steeves and Frances Frias, her nieces and nephew whom she treated as her own, Jessie Frias, Emily (Evan) Donohoe and Nolin (Kelsey) Frias. Additionally, Jane was a GREAT Aunt to Charlotte, Addison & Nora Donohoe, and Gavyn Frias.  As anyone who knew Jane could attest, her greatest joy in her recent years included spending time with her great nieces. Auntie, as she was affectionately known, was always up for a walk (with or without her favorite puppy,) a trip to the squishy park, playing hide and seek, providing pocketbook chocolates, watching endless hours of Disney movies, and pretty much anything that meant more time with her girls.

As an avid reader, Jane frequented the Taunton Public Library Friends monthly book sales and was always coming home with a bag or two of “new reads”.

Per Jane’s wishes there will be no wake or funeral service, however a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for close family and friends.
