Jeanne Richard Obituary

Jeanne Louise Richard, 83, a lifelong resident of Taunton MA, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025.  Jeanne was born on February 1,1942, the daughter of the late Evelyn (Theriault) and Edmond “Larry” Richard.

Jeanne was an honor graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Johnson and Wales Business School.  She had a long and varied professional career beginning at Rhode Island Hospital Trust, where she worked for twenty years, rising to the position of loan officer.  She utilized her extensive organizational skills as Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO of AMTROL and later at NAVIX DX.  Jeanne’s last and possibly favorite position was as a dedicated children’s librarian at the Taunton Public Library, where she loved working with children and their families.

Jeanne was an active member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, the former St Jacques Parish, her whole life.  She served as an Extraordinary Minister, bringing Holy Communion to parishioners and volunteering many hours in the parish office.  Her faith was a very important part of her life, and she lived it well.  Although facing many medical challenges in her later years, Jeanne never complained.  Jeanne was dedicated to her parents, caring for her beloved mother through serious illness. She was always a supportive presence in the lives of her family, never missing special events and family traditions, along with holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and dance recitals.  Jeanne was friendly to everybody, strangers and friends alike.  She was a loyal and welcoming friend and kept her friends close til’ the end of her life.  Jeanne had a soft spot for animals, especially her cat, Angus.  She was always copying and sending articles of interest to her family and friends. She was an avid and skilled scrabble player, enjoyed skiing in her youth and found the game of Bocce in her seventies!  Jeanne enjoyed her final years making new friends at the All-American Assisted Living of Raynham.

Jeanne was a loving sister to the late Edward Richard and his wife Gail of Bridgewater and Ronald Richard and his wife Maria of Marshfield.  She was the beloved auntie and great auntie to her nieces, nephews and their families.  Jeanne also leaves many dear friends and will be sorely missed by all those who loved her.
