He was born on July 25, 1950 in Taunton, son of the late David L. and Jeanette I. (Hardy) Knox, and is also predeceased by an older brother Lawrence D. Knox and brother-in-law Samuel Z. Abraham. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Marietta T. (Knox) Nelson; three grandsons: Tyler James Nelson, Alex James Nelson, and Jaybyn Brodie Rood; sister, Sharon L. (Knox) Abraham of Tyrone, PA; brother, Richard T. John became a Christian in the mid-1970’s and faithfully attended Lakeville Church of the Nazarene for the rest of his life. He loved to study his Bible, he had also taught Sunday School, and loved conversing about the Bible with his late brother-in-law Sam. He had a great sense of humor, and delighted in teasing the people he loved, especially his daughter. John overcame many obstacles in his life because of his hearing impairment.
