Obituary
John Mathew Smith of Taunton, formerly of Attleboro died peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 80, he had been on Hospice care.
John went to Coyle High School graduating in 1962. He was a letterman in 4 sports. He then went on to Providence College earning a BS in Public Tax Accounting in which he worked for 40 years. John loved sports, politics, music and was a lifelong runner. He was a huge Beatles fan. He loved to be silly, tell jokes and make people laugh. The most important thing to him was family.
John is survived by his daughter Erin Prewandowski, her husband Martin and their children Amanda and Brenna, his son Dr. Michael Smith, his daughter Heather Maguire, her husband Colin and their children Keagan and Colin, his brother Owen Smith and his wife Dorothy, his brother James Smith and his wife Eileen, and his ex-wife Dorothy Fairchild.
Services will be a private ceremony with family.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in John’s honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
