Joseph F. Cotter Jr. "Joe", 64, of South Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, after a long and intrepid battle with cancer. He was the loving son of Joseph and Charlotte Cotter.
Born on January 13, 1962, Joe grew up in Attleboro. He attended Attleboro High School and later the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He was distinguished by his love for his family, his animals, and love for classic rock music, mainly The Grateful Dead. He was an avid writer and loved space and sci-fi movies. He often discussed planets and all things space related with his grandchildren. He worked as a professional chef for the better part of 30+ years and continued his journey working as a customer service representative for a facilities maintenance company. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking meals for the people he loved, listening to music, and spending time with his dogs.
He leaves behind his loving son, Cory Cotter; his much-loved Grandchildren, Cam, Cade and Luke Joseph; his loving siblings, Dennis Cotter, Charlotte Thornhill, and Anne Hutnak; his nieces and nephews, Charlotte Hutnak, Olivia Hutnak, Amelia Hutnak, Matt Thornhill, Wayne Thornhill, Christopher Cotter and Stephanie Cotter and their children; and his many cousins.
