Josephine "Josie" (Borges) Ventura

Mrs. Josephine (Borges) Ventura, age 99, passed away on Saturday, November 2. 2024, at The Residence of Great Woods, in Norton. She was the loving wife of the late John Ventura.

Born in Taunton on September 3, 1925, to the late Mary (Paiva) and Louis Borges. Josie was a lifelong resident of Taunton and worked at The Chocolate Factory in Mansfield, was a barber at the Paul A. Dever State School and a Home Health Aide for the Visiting Nurse Association. She also volunteered her time at D.F. Adams Post 611 V.F.W. of Taunton. Josephine enjoyed painting, quilting and crafts.

Josie is survived by her sons, John Ventura and his wife Kara of Taunton, David Ventura, and her daughter Ann Gill.  She was a loving  grandmother and great-grandmother to many. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.  Josie was also the mother to the late June Ventura, and sister of the late Louis Borges, Alfred Borges, John Borges, Joe Borges and Mary Pimental.

Visiting hours will be held from 9:00-11:00am on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA, with a Service in the Funeral Home at 10:45am.
