Karin I. (Tremowsky) Theriault

Karin I. Theriault passed away Wednesday January 19th, 2022 peacefully in her daughters home after a sudden battle with cancer.  Karin was born in Bamberg, Germany on April 7, 1950.  She was the daughter of Bruno and Erna Tramowsky.  She was the wife of late, David E. Theriault, who preceded her in death November 29, 1978 while serving his country.  She is survived by her son, Rene M. Theriault, his wife, Melissa, and her daughter Yvonne O’Brien, and her husband, Shawn.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren that she treasured, Kayla O’Brien, Alex O’Brien, and Camden Theriault.  She was the sister to Manfred, and Wolfgang who proceeded her in death, and survived by her brother Gerhardt. 

Karin was strong, kind, and outgoing.  She grew up with very little and learned at an early age, a strong work ethic, the importance of family, and resilience for the many obstacles’ life would hand her but always persevered.  She may have been small in stature but her approach to life was large and fearless-always willing to try something and never took herself too seriously.  She had been a resident of Taunton for over forty years and worked in the Taunton schools right up until her passing.  She could be found bowling or at a bingo game with her girlfriends, always up for a trip to the casinos, and would partake in any activity with her grandchildren to join in the fun.  She had an infinite love of Christmas-child like in how her face would lite up over the celebrations-it gave her the opportunity to celebrate her German traditions which always remained very dear to her.  Karin had a deep faith and would always reference her strength in her love of God.  Her strength and resilience live on in in her children and grandchildren.  Although as a family, we have parted with her on this earth, we find peace knowing heaven just gained a very courageous angel and that she is with her husband, parents, and brothers again.  

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2:00PM - 5:00PM with a memorial service at 4:00pm at the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St., Taunton, MA.  Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
