Laurie A. (Sergio) Sweeney

Laurie A. Sweeney passed away on, Sunday, October 17, 2021. Born on December 1st, 1953 in Brockton, MA to John Sergio and the late Frances Cerci Jordan, both from Brockton.  She was a graduate Brockton High School, Class of 1971.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Francis John Sweeney, 70, and her 2 daughters, Melanie Covel, 48, of Taunton and her husband John Saupp, and Michelle Sweeney Thurston, 44, and her husband James Thurston of Tiverton, RI.; grandchildren; Liam, 11 and Taylor, 9. Laurie leaves behind her siblings; Lorraine Johnson (Sergio) and her children Michael and Courtney; brother, Robert Sergio and his son Gino (both formerly of Brockton); her Aunt, Louise Cerci Stratoti (sister of Frances), of Bridgewater and her children and grandchildren. 

Laurie loved her husband, children, grandchildren and her extensive family and friends who she always wanted to be happy and healthy. She was at her best when surrounded by them. 

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, MA 02780 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:30 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ALS Association, https://www.als.org/donate.
