Lloyd J. Menard

Mr. Lloyd J. Menard, age 78, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Joanne R. (Desrosiers) Menard. Lloyd was born in Taunton, Ma on September 21, 1945, to the late Elizabeth (Roskuska) and Leon Menard.

A lifelong city resident Lloyd was raised and educated in Taunton and graduated from Coyle High School Class of 1964.  Lloyd loved life and had a passion for helping people. He was known for having a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back. Lloyd was quite the outdoors man. He loved fishing and hunting in Maine, canoe trips with friends and hiking in the woods with his grandchildren. Lloyd enjoyed venturing out on his boat throughout Cape Cod, whether it was boating with friends and family or enjoying the many fish he would catch. He would always cherish and look forward to his dinners with his grandchildren, making many wonderful memories. Lloyd’s grandchildren were his pride and joy. Family meant everything to Lloyd, and he truly enjoyed every moment he spent with his children and their families. Lloyd always looked forward to hosting his annual pool parties for the softball league with KC’s Pub and Captain’s Quarterdeck. He certainly lived his life to the fullest and will be missed immensely by all.

Lloyd is survived by his son Joseph Menard and partner Rachael Marcotte of Taunton; and his daughter Stacey Giebel and husband David of Taunton. He was the proud grandfather of Jordan Menard, Jared Menard, Matthew Giebel, Jack Giebel, and Alison Giebel. He was the loving great-grandfather of Troy and Grady Gunter and brother of Marybeth Bourque and husband Claude. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4:00pm-7:00pm in the Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral, 467 Bay St. Taunton, Ma 02780. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 10:30am in the Funeral Home, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:30am at St. Francis New Cemetery, 48 N. Walker St., Taunton, Ma 02780.
