Lorraine Dugan Obituary

Lorraine M. Dugan, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Dugan, with whom she shared many years of marriage.

Born in Taunton on May 5, 1928, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Albert Wilson and the late Rosamond (Butler) Wilson. She was a proud graduate of Taunton High School and a long-time resident of Taunton.

A talented businesswoman with a creative eye, Lorraine owned and operated the Tiffany Thrift Shop in Melrose for many years. As an antique dealer, she had a remarkable appreciation for history, beauty, and craftsmanship, always delighting in discovering unique treasures.

Lorraine was known for her vibrant personality and many passions. She adored hats and amassed an impressive collection over the years. She was an active member of the Victorian House Club of Melrose and the Red Hat Society, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed sharing her love of fashion, antiques, and history.

An avid reader with a vivid imagination, Lorraine found great joy in writing stories and poetry. She loved tending to her garden, spending time with her family, and enjoying life's simple pleasures, whether playing cards, a game of dominoes, or working on a challenging puzzle. Above all else, Lorraine treasured being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and the love she shared with her family was the greatest joy of her life.

Lorraine is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Dugan and Christopher Dugan. She was predeceased by her son, Edward C. Dugan. She was the cherished grandmother of Scott R. Sumrall, Robert T. Sumrall, and Tara Hurley, and the proud great-grandmother of two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters, Shirley Higgins and Alberta Rose, and was predeceased by her sister, Marie Perdue. Lorraine also leaves her daughter in-law, Paula Dugan, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit.
