Louise L. (Tavares) Silvia, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Raynham, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth W. Silvia.
Born in Taunton, on March 24, 1932, to the late Mary (Fontes) and Joseph Tavares. Louise dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her long nursing career and through her generous spirit in her community. She was a proud member of the Taunton Art Association and the Atlantic Coast Old Timers Race Club, supporting her beloved husband Kenneth in his racing endeavors at Seekonk.
Louise found joy in art, immersing herself in painting and sharing her creativity with friends and family. Renowned for her culinary talents, she enjoyed cooking, especially delighted in baking wedding cakes and bringing loved ones together through food. Above all, Louise treasured her family, finding her greatest happiness in spoiling her nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind her devoted siblings: Joseph Tavares Jr. of Taunton, William Tavares of Bourne, and James Tavares of Fairhaven; nineteen nieces and nephews whom she adored; and many cherished grand nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her siblings Dorothy Ambrozio, Shirley Nicolan, Richard Tavares, Edward Tavares, Mary Jane Dukacz, and Sylvina Tavares. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Stevens St., East Taunton, MA. All relatives and family are respectfully invited to attend.
