Lucille (Leal) McGaughran, 93, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, on Friday, January 3, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Edward “Wimpy” McGaughran.
Lucille was the daughter of the late Manuel and Helen (Content) Leal. She is survived by her children Susan (Eric) Davis, Edward (Ida) McGaughran, and Paul (Margaret) McGaughran; her five grandchildren Matthew (Lindsey) McGaughran, Samantha (Christian) Mills, Nathan (Carina) Davis, Leah Davis, and Ryan Nicholson; and five great grandchildren.
Lucille was a Taunton Public Schools Home Economics teacher, inspiring many, earning her teaching degrees by attending Bridgewater State University and Framingham State college evenings while raising her children. Lucille enjoyed watching sports, especially tennis and college teams, knitting, sewing, reading, Pocasset summers, and visiting with her neighbors on her front porch. She will be remembered for her smile, wisdom, patience, generosity, and quiet demeanor.
Her arrangements are being handled by Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, Ma. Her wake and burial will be held privately.
