It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lucy M. (Costa) Gamache, age 79, of Berkley, who departed this life peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2025, with her devoted husband at her side. Mrs. Gamache was the beloved wife of Richard J. Gamache, with whom she shared 56 years of loving marriage. Born in Taunton, Massachusetts, on July 19, 1946, she was the cherished daughter of the late Irene (Mattos) and Manuel Costa.
Mrs. Gamache was a faithful member of her church and a dedicated participant in her local knitting circle. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a skilled seamstress at the former Rennie’s Curtain Factory, served as a longtime lunch aide for Berkley Schools, and fulfilled the role of payroll clerk for the Town of Berkley with great diligence and care.
She was also renowned for her passion for crafts, excelling in sewing, knitting, crocheting and found joy in bowling, camping, and, above all, cherishing time spent with her family.
In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by her loving sons, Eric Gamache and his wife Corinne of Dighton, MA, and Keith Gamache and his wife Michelle of Lynbrook, NY. She was the proud grandmother of Everett, Atticus, Sophie, and Dylan Gamache. Mrs. Gamache is also survived by her sister, Diane Ferris, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her sisters Beverly, Patricia, and Norine.
