Obituary

Manuel Mello Jr., 81 of Taunton passed away at home on Sunday August 6, 2023.

Born in Taunton on February 24, 1942 to the late Angelina (Costa) and Manuel Mello. Manuel proudly served 6 years in the National Guard and worked for Harodite Finishing Company of Dighton, MA for 20 years, and Litchfield School District of Phoenix, Arizona for 10 years. One of his favorite hobbies he loved was puzzles, he would sit for hours accomplishing them.

In addition to his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret (Motta) Mello, Manuel is survived by his son Steven Mello and wife Donna of Forest Dale, MA, his brothers Edward Mello and wife Susan of Westport, MA and Ernest Mello of Taunton, his grandson Thomas Mello and wife Jess of Wareham, MA and several nieces and nephews. Manuel was also the brother of the late Edwin Mello, Lorraine (Mello) Machado, and Herbert Mello formerly all of Taunton and the late Jilda (Mello) Lynch of Norton. Brother-in-law to Ken and Sue Avilla and the late Allan Motta and wife Kendra.
