Margaret "Peggy" (Cotter) Vargas

Margaret “Peggy” (Cotter) Vargas, age 79, passed away at her home in Taunton on Monday, September 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Vargas.

Born in Taunton on November 7, 1944, Peggy attended Taunton schools and graduated from Taunton High. She worked at Paul A. Dever State School for many years.

Peggy was the mother of David A. Cardoza and the late John A. Cardoza Jr., the sister of James Cumiskey and wife Yvette, Butchy Cumiskey and wife Patty, Joan King and fiancé Wayne Cushman, Helen Magnan and husband Raymond, the late Thomas Cumiskey and wife Angela, the late Mary Sullivan and husband Mike, the late Judy Jones and her late husband Kenney, Peggy is also survived by her adored granddaughter Amanda.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 4:00-6:00pm at Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay St. Taunton, MA. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet at the Funeral Home at 10:00am on Thursday, October 3, 2024, to line up for the Funeral Procession. A Graveside Service will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 475 E. Britannia St. Taunton, MA, at 10:30am.
