Our dear mother, Maria Laura Henriques de Sousa Nunes, sadly passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the age of 86. She was the beloved wife of the late Joao Aires Nunes.

Born in Madeira, Portugal, she was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Laura (de Barros) de Sousa. Maria was a woman of great Faith in God. She cherished spending time with her loving family and was loved by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children; John Porfirio Nunes, Ana Furtado and husband John, Adriana Silva and husband Joe, Margarida Nunes, Jose Alirio Nunes, Daniela Nunes, Norberta Nunes, Ida Tome and husband Tony Carvalho, Antonio Celso Nunes, Leticia Azevedo and husband Carlos, Carla Nunes, Patricia Brum and husband Roy, Celia Marisa Due Pedersen and husband Henrik, grandchildren; Mark, Emily, Matthew and wife Jill, Jenny, Nicole and husband Pat, Mitchell, Christian, Andre, Thiago, Ryan, Sergio, Lucas, Logan, Mathias, Marcus, great grandchildren; Averie, Casey and Charlotte, her beloved sister Piedade Caldeira and husband Noe and their son Alirio, brother in-law Antonio da Cruz, nephews; Basilio Henriques and wife Esmeralda, Lucy, Mariluz, Ofelia, many cousins and extended family. She was the beloved sister of the late Vitoria Cruz, Basilio, Fernando and Alirio Henriques.
