Maria Jorgelina Braga

Maria Jorgelina Braga passed away on January 7, 2025 at Morton Hospital. She was the wife of the late Norberto de Silva Braga. Born on July 9, 1942 to the late Evangelina (Fonseca) Manuel de Melo.

Maria loved cooking and gardening, but most of all, she loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Maria was the beloved mother of the late Brigida Festa, Ana Bergantim, Evangelina Rocha and Laura Braga. She was a loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Maria also leaves 3 son in-laws and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to her daughter Brigida, she was predeceased by her brother Manuel de Melo and sister Joana Branco.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 13, 2025 from 10:00am-11:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00pm in St. Anthony’s Church, 126 School St. Taunton Ma 02780. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
