Marie L. (Kucich) Briggs, 73, of Raynham, Massachusetts and formerly of Plymouth, Massachusetts, died peacefully at home on October 11, 2021. Marie was born and raised in Hyde Park, Massachusetts and graduated from Hyde Park High School in 1965. On New Years Eve 1969, Marie was set up on a successful blind date with Erich Briggs and they married in June 1971. Once married, Marie and Erich enjoyed living in eight states, starting a family and making many friends along the way. In 1997, Marie and Erich made their way back to Massacchusetts. In June 2021, Marie and Erich celebrated 50 years of wedded bliss alongside daughters Jennifer (Briggs) Vance and husband Eric of Hazleton, Iowa and Megan (Briggs) Reilly and husband Shaun of Newton, Massachusetts, and beloved granddaughters Madelynn, Elizabeth, Lily and Olivia. In addition to her immediate family, Marie is survived by her sister Joyce Abbruzzese of Holbrook, Massachusetts, and brother Anthony Kucich of Franklin, Massachusetts; she was preceded in death by sister Joanne Frederick, brother Kenny Kucich and parents Anothony Kucich and Fortunata Elizabeth (Pistorio) Kucich. Marie was known as Auntie ReRe by ten nieces and nephews and their children, and enjoyed warm relationships with her brothers- and sisters- in-law. She was a kind and generous soul who lived for holiday celebrations and visits with her granddaughters.
Please join Erich, Jennifer and Megan in celebrating Marie’s life at a Memorial Service on October 22, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the chapel at St. Michael’s Cemetery (500 Canterbury Street, Boston, MA 02131). Following the service, all are welcome to lunch at The Chateau-Norwood (404 Boston Providence Tpke Ste 1, Norwood, MA 02062).
